Philadelphia 76ers big man Al Horford has heard all about the recent rumors about him after he was demoted to a bench role following a four-year, $109 million contract that he signed this summer.

The double big man experiment has simply not worked, and Horford's game has yet to mesh with Joel Embiid's — a problem that ultimately forced head coach Brett Brown to make Horford a part of the second unit to keep from drowning all his talent into one starting lineup.

A report from USA TODAY Sports claimed that the Sixers would try to right their wrongs by moving Horford in the offseason, only a year after he turned down a $30 million option with the Boston Celtics to come to Philly.

Horford shrugged off those reports, claiming he's exclusively focused on getting his team where it needs to be before the start of the postseason:

“All I can say is I am focused on right now,” Horford told Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer in response to the report. “I can’t control speculation. That is a decision they would have to make when the time is right.

“Right now, I am focused on getting some wins for our team.”

The Sixers have been a see-saw nightmare this season, performing god-like at home and awful on the road. While they have won six of their last nine games, quite predictably, their last 14 losses have come on the road.

Horford's move to the bench is expected to ameliorate some of the bench unit's struggles while allowing for more shooting and better spacing in the starting lineup, but if this big change fails to bring results, the Sixers could opt to explore trade talks and dismantle the top-heavy lineup they first envisioned.
