With the outcome already decided in the closing seconds of overtime of the Philadelphia 76ers' showdown with the Cleveland Cavaliers at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, Ben Simmons figured it's not a bad idea to hoist his first and only 3-point attempt of the evening.

Simmons, who's had his troubles shooting the long ball throughout his career, surprisingly splashed that no-bearing 3-pointer at the buzzer, which altered the final score to 112-109 in favor of the Cavs. Here's the Sixers playmaker's fourth made 3-pointer of his career:

Ben Simmons gets the bulk of his points from lay-ups, dunks and the occasional perimeter jumper. He is pretty much allergic to shots from past the arc, though he does try to shoot the long ball once every 15 games or so. The Sixers have successfully filled their roster with dead-eye shooters this season, but Simmons' shortcomings on that end of the floor continue to plague him.

Still, it's good to see the 6-foot-10 star be confident enough to launch one. Simmons, after all, is a career 12.9 percent 3-point shooter. Against the Cavs on Saturday, the three-time All-Star tallied impressive numbers of 24 points, seven boards, eight dimes and one steal on 11-of-17 shooting from the field in 41 minutes.
