On Friday, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James posted a hilarious photo on Instagram in which the game notes from the San Antonio Spurs erroneously listed him as a rookie. Philadelphia 76ers stud Ben Simmons joined in on the fun and responded with an equally amusing comment, which also happens to poke fun at himself:

Looks like Simmons accepted being a rookie

James was obviously having a laugh about the typographical error, and he even went along with it by saying that he was going to gun for this season's Rookie of the Year award. Who better to chime in than the reigning ROY himself?

There was a lot of talk last season regarding Simmons' status as a rookie. To some, it didn't matter that he sat out the entirety of his first season (2016-17) due to injury. That season should have been considered as his rookie year, and he should have been disqualified for last season's award.

Well, all that talk chatter ended up being pointless as Simmons eventually bagged last season's ROY title, edging out Utah Jazz standout Donovan Mitchell.

Nevertheless, the whole “not a rookie” movement has somewhat still been a thorn in Simmons' side, with some even joking about the third-year man's perpetual rookie status. As it turns out, the 22-year-old is way over it, and he can now even afford to contribute to rookie-related jokes.

In terms of his performances on the court, though, Simmons has been anything but funny. Facing him has not been fun for any of his opponents, as the 6-foot-10 guard/forward is currently putting up 15.3 points (on 57.1 percent shooting), 9.0 rebounds, 7.9 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.8 blocks in 33.3 minutes of action.

Ben Simmons has been pivotal for the Sixers all season long, as the team is now 18-9 and sitting comfortably in the second spot in the East.
