It has already been half a year since Philadelphia 76ers stud Ben Simmons was awarded last season's Rookie of the Year award. Nonetheless, with some critics still calling out the legitimacy of his rookie season, it appears that the Sixers star has grown sick and tired of all the questioning.

In a recent interview, Simmons did not appear pleased with one reporter bringing up the issue:

“It wasn’t a [expletive] race,” Simmons said, via Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribune. “You saw the votes, right? … Did you see the votes? So what’s the question?”

There are more than a few who believe that Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell should have been the rightful winner of last season's ROY award, given how last season was technically already Simmons' second year in the league.

Simmons is having none of it, and he seems to have had enough of all the nonsense:

“How do I feel about it? I don’t give a [expletive]. Honestly, I don’t,” Simmons said. “I’m not worried about outside noise, I’m not worried about anything in terms of fans, media, you guys asking these questions; [I don’t care what anyone says] besides my teammates and my coaches, everyone in this locker room.”

To be honest, Simmons' reaction is somewhat understandable considering the fact that there are still some media personalities who refuse to let go of this issue.

Regardless, Simmons still had nothing but good things to say about Mitchell:

“He’s a great player, he’s a great player,” Simmons said. “He can score the ball really well, he’s getting better finding his guys. He’s learning. He’s a great player.”

Despite all of the noise, the fact of the matter is that Ben Simmons won the 2017-18 Rookie of the Year award. No one can take that away from him no matter how hard they might try.
