The Philadelphia 76ers traded their only pick in the 2022 NBA Draft to the Memphis Grizzlies Thursday night. Memphis received the No. 23 pick and veteran Danny Green in exchange for guard De'Anthony Melton.

The trade was finalized Friday afternoon, and Sixers general manager Daryl Morey had a heartfelt statement for Green.

“I want to thank Danny Green for everything he gave the Sixers organization over the last two seasons. He was a veteran leader, consummate professional on and off the court, and made us all better. I wish him continued success in his recovery and look forward to seeing him back on the court.”

Green spent the last two seasons with the Sixers as one of the team's top three-point shooters. The three-time NBA champion wasn't able to pick up any more rings during his time in Philadelphia. However, he was undoubtedly a huge reason for the team's recent success.

Green will join his new teammates, including No. 23 overall pick David Roddy, on his sixth NBA team since joining the league in 2009. While his career is starting over in Memphis, he's also still recovering from the ACL tear he suffered in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The injury forced him out of the matchup against the Miami Heat just three minutes in.
