It took some time for former Los Angeles Lakers players Dwight Howard and Danny Green to receive their 2020 NBA championship rings. The highly anticipated moment finally arrived on Thursday, when they made the trip back to Staples Center as members of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Judging by the huge grin on their faces, it was certainly worth the wait. Prior to the Sixers' road game against the Lakers, Howard and Green were honored and given their hard-earned hardware.

It was indeed an unforgettable experience for Howard, especially, who finally won that elusive first NBA title. Green, a consummate winner wherever he goes, took home his third NBA championship ring from his third team.

While it was LeBron James and Anthony Davis who led the Purple and Gold to their 17th banner last season, the feat wouldn't have been made possible if not for the crucial contributions of Green and Howard.

Dwight Howard was expected to re-sign in Tinseltown in the offseason, but somehow pivoted in the last minute and agreed to a deal with the Sixers. Danny Green, meanwhile, was traded by the Lakers to the Oklahoma City Thunder but found himself reunited with Howard when he was also dealt to the Sixers.

While it was an incredible moment for the two ex-Lakers, no doubt they will be all business against their former team.
