James Harden didn't have the dream season he envisioned when he joined the Philadelphia 76ers in the middle of the 2021-22 NBA season. What the future holds for The Beard remains uncertain, but it looks like he's trying to control what he can control this offseason.
The Sixers star was spotted putting in some work with his boys, getting some cardio in by doing hill sprints:
Of course, Sixers fans are the last fan base you'd be able to convince using some clips during the offseason. After dealing with the workout wonder known as Ben Simmons and the various offseason clips that have gone viral of his over the years, nothing truly matters until it seeps into play on the court.
But nonetheless, getting an in-shape James Harden would be a massive boon for the Sixers' title hopes next season. He's dealt with lingering injuries over the past couple of years but perhaps getting in peak physical condition could help limit that next season.
It still remains to be seen how the contract situation with James Harden will unfold. He currently has a player option but clearly wants an extension – one that the Sixers have reportedly been much more leery to give than expected just a few months back in terms of committing a huge dollar figure for multiple years.
Whatever happens, James Harden could very well be in prove-it mode. If he comes back to resemble the MVP that he once was in Houston, the Sixers could be dangerous going into the new season.
