The Philadelphia 76ers have spent the better part of a decade in a giant rebuild. The roster reconstruction, also known as “The Process,” is centered around Joel Embiid and the team's journey to a championship title.

Embiid has been a part of “The Process” since the Sixers drafted him third overall in 2014. In the meantime, he's watched teammates come in and out, molding the latest edition of the Philadelphia roster.

One of Embiid's former teammates is JJ Redick, who now works as an ESPN analyst and podcast host. The former Sixers' shooting guard hosted Embiid on his podcast, “The Old Man & the Three” to discuss the big man's career, his MVP candidacy, and The Process.

Redick got extremely emotional during the interview when he told Embiid how much his progression meant to him. He said that it was an emotional moment for him when Embiid was introduced as a starter for his fifth-straight All-Star Game this year.

“It was a moment for me, and I really mean that. To see what you have become as a player and person, man. I got to basically be here at the beginning, it's meaningful to me. And I just want to let you know I'm proud of you bro.”

The two played together in Philadelphia from 2017 to 2019, before Redick began his career with the New Orleans Pelicans.

What started as basically nothing, The Process is honing in on an NBA title, and Embiid is a top candidate for this year's MVP award. No matter what happens, it's pretty clear who earned Redick's regular-season MVP selection.
