It looks like the Philadelphia 76ers will continue to field a banged-up lineup for their next game against the Phoenix Suns. After exiting the Sixers' loss to the Portland Trail Blazers early due to an ankle injury, Joel Embiid will sit out Tuesday's game.

Embiid played in just six minutes during Sunday's game before exiting after scrambling for a loose ball with the Blazers' Zach Collins. He suffered the injury on this play and exited to the locker room for good.

Embiid is the Sixers' main option on offense, leading the team with 23.5 points, 11.8 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.
The Sixers are already short-handed as it is due to the injury absence of Ben Simmons. The All-Star point guard could potentially be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to surgery on his left knee. Simmons was averaging 16.4 points, 8.0 assists and 7.8 rebounds per game on 58.0 percent shooting from the field.
Philadelphia is within a game of the Miami Heat and the Indiana Pacers for the fourth and fifth spots in the East. But with the injury of Simmons and the absence of Embiid against the Suns — Phoenix started out Orlando bubble play at 5-0 — the Sixers are looking to enter the postseason as the sixth seed.
As things currently stand, the Sixers are likely to match up against the No. 3-seeded Boston Celtics.
