Daryl Morey was named president of the Philadelphia 76ers last week. Despite the fact that he has only been on the job for a few days, he's already excited about the idea of working with All-Star center Joel Embiid.

Morey took part in a press conference on Monday. It was during this appearance that the former Houston Rockets general manager praised Embiid. As noted by ESPN's Tim Bontemps, Morey is ready to work with another star center, just as he did with Yao Ming in Houston:

“Joel is a dominant, dominant big man. I'm excited to get back to that,” Morey said during his Monday press conference, via Derek Bodner of The Athletic.

The Sixers have struggled to get over the proverbial hump in recent seasons with Embiid at the helm. This season, Philly was swept by the Boston Celtics in the first round. Despite their postseason woes, Morey believes his new team can “win it all” with Embiid:

Daryl Morey will have some interesting decisions to make in his first few weeks on the job, as the 2020 NBA Draft and free agency loom on the horizon. Philly does have a first-round pick, but it doesn't come until later in the opening round (21st). At this point, it's not clear what the team has planned for this selection.

Another hot topic for the Sixers has been the pairing of Embiid with Ben Simmons. Some experts feel the two stars should be separated, while others believe they have what it takes to win together.

Can Embiid lead the Sixers to the promised land, as Morey suggests? For now, we'll have to wait and see.
