The Philadelphia 76ers and Joel Embiid are once again in the highlight reels. The Sixers big man took a pass and went coast to coast for the easy layup against the Chicago Bulls on Friday night.

Embiid is on an absolute tear this season for the Sixers and continues to make impressive plays like this one against Chicago. Prior to Friday's game, he's averaging 29.7 points with 3.1 assists and 10.8 boards as Philly remains atop the Eastern Conference standings.

The Cameroonian center was also named a starter for the East in the All-Star Game.

The first season of Doc Rivers in Philadelphia has gotten off to a terrific start and has, in turn, seen Embiid play at an MVP-caliber level all season long. The Brooklyn Nets aren't far behind, but for now, it's the Sixers who are the beats of the East as they look to make noise in the playoffs.

The Bulls lost point guard Coby White after he left early with a knee contusion. However, Zach LaVine continued his torrid stretch of scoring and scored 30 points on 9-of-25 from the field with five assists and five boards.

Joel Embiid led all scorers with an incredible 50 points and 17 boards in their 112-105 victory against the Bulls. If Embiid can keep playing at this high of a level, the Sixers might just end up being the favorites to come out of the East come playoff time, regardless of how dangerous the Nets offense looks.
