After what seemed like ages for Philadelphia 76ers fans, Joel Embiid has returned to action. The Cameroonian superstar has missed Games 1 and 2 due to an orbital fracture AND a concussion. Embiid was finally cleared to play in Game 3, and he had an immediate impact on the team.

Despite the win, though, Joel Embiid knows that he isn't quite there yet. The Sixers star admitted that he didn't play his best ball in Game 3, and announced simply that he can be much better. That's… quite the terrifying statement from an MVP-caliber player. (via ESPN)

Embiid's statline wasn't too shabby from a guy coming off of a concussion: 18 points on 5-12 shooting, along with 11 rebounds. However, Sixers fans know that this isn't his final form. At his peak, Embiid is a dominating force that bends defenses to his will. Even just getting 80% of that Embiid will make this Sixers team unstoppable.

At the very least, this game is an encouraging sign for the Sixers. Embiid's presence was clearly a big factor in the game, despite his sub-par performance. Their once-dominant paint game was gone, and they were forced to pay attention to Embiid. Tyrese Maxey and James Harden also carried the offense for long stretches, so that was nice.

Hopefully, with a few more days of rest, Embiid can start ramping up his play. Peak Joel is one of the most exciting players to watch on the court, as he can do virtually anything. If he's healthy, the Sixers will be favorites to win it all.
