Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid left Friday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies with neck stiffness.

The Sixers later announced with Embiid won't return:

Embiid came into Friday averaging 23.0 points, 12.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists while shooting 46.6 percent from the field, 32.9 percent from beyond the arc and 81.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Against the Grizzlies, Embiid played 16 minutes. He finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Sixers are trying to snap a four-game losing streak.

Embiid just recently returned to the lineup from his left hand injury which required surgery. Coming into Friday, the Sixers were 1-4 in the five games Embiid has played in since coming back.
