The first-round series between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Toronto Raptors was incredibly entertaining to watch. After dropping the first three-games, the young Raptors attempted the impossible. However, they were shut down by the might of Philly. However, a few unfortunate accidents ruined the fun for both sides.

Of course, we're talking about Raptors star Pascal Siakam's errant elbow on Sixers star Joel Embiid. The Cameroonian star would miss Games 1 and 2 against the Heat due to this hit. There's also the fact that the Raptors crowd was relentless in booing and jeering  Embiid all series long.

After returning from his injury on Friday night, Joel Embiid finally talked about Siakam and Raptors fans. The Sixers star preceded his statement by saying that he didn't think Siakam intentionally hit him in the head. However, Embiid would proceed to slam Raptors fans for their behavior throughout the series. (via Kyle Neubeck)

What's interesting about Embiid's statement is his verdict on Siakam's hit on him. Fans of both teams were debating whether Siakam intentionally elbowed the Sixers star in Game 6. However, it does seem like Embiid doesn't hold it against his fellow Cameroonian. Against the Raptors fanbase, though… Embiid had different thoughts.

The Raptors fanbase has caught a lot of flak over the years. Like Sixers fans, Toronto fans are incredibly passionate about their sports teams. That, naturally, leads to them doing anything they can to help their team out, including talking trash against their opponents.

That nature of Raptors fans was perfect for the Sixers star, who seemed to thrive when fans openly jeered him. However, as the series went on, Embiid's trash talk seemed to change from playful banter to annoyance at the opposing fanbase. The reactions to Siakam elbowing him, as well as Nick Nurse's comments earlier in the series, only made it worse.

There seems to be a rivalry brewing between the Raptors and the Sixers this year. The next playoff series between these two teams will have more of the same antics… especially if Embiid is on the court. Buckle up, folks: this is going to be one hell of a rivalry between these two teams.
