Philadelphia 76ers star big man Joel Embiid can't seem to catch a break. On the same day that he returned to the Sixers' lineup after suffering an ankle injury, Embiid hurt his right hand versus the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday and was forced to leave the game.

X-rays on Embiid's hand were negative, per Serena Winters of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

The Sixers will face the Boston Celtics in the first round of the 2020 playoffs. Without All-Star point-forward Ben Simmons, who is out after undergoing knee surgery, the Sixers will likely lose to the Celtics.

If for some reason Embiid is out as well, Philadelphia may get swept by Boston.

Embiid's injury woes have been well-documented since he entered the NBA in 2014. He's got Hall of Fame talent and is averaging 24.1 points and 11.5 rebounds for his career, but Embiid can't seem to stay on the court consistently for the Sixers. It's been that way ever since he was drafted, as JoJo missed the first two years of his career.

Whenever Philadelphia's 2019-20 season ends, it's going to be very interesting what general manager Elton Brand decides to do with his team. There have been rumors Brand could split up Simmons and Embiid and also fire head coach Brett Brown.

Joel Embiid was putting up 23.5 points and 11.8 boards on the season before he got hurt against the Raptors.
