The Philadelphia 76ers have all but locked up a spot in the second round of the NBA playoffs with a heart-stopping overtime win against the Toronto Raptors Wednesday. The Raptors controlled most of and led most of Game 2. But Sixers superstar Joel Embiid refused to lose.

With just over two seconds remaining in overtime and the game tied at 101, the Sixers were inbounding the ball side out on the offensive end. Embiid caught the inbounds pass, turned around and smoothly swished a fadeaway three-pointer with 0.7 seconds left. The building went from insanely fired up screaming to completely silent. Embiid sank the shot and the hearts of all Raptors fans.

In doing so, the Sixers big man became the first center with a game-winning, go-ahead three point shot in any playoff game in the last 25 years.

As StatMuse said in their tweet, “Shaq with a three-point shot is unfair.”

Embiid has been staking his case as the NBA MVP all season. He has been in a battle with Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo. If felt like the front-runner changed hands a number of times down the stretch. Public perception seems to be that the Nuggets big man is most likely to take home the trophy for a second straight year. But that would be no fault of Embiid's.

All the Sixers MVP candidate continues to do this year is truly astounding. For a man of his size, to be able to have the footwork of Hakeem Olajuwon, the post-dominance near Shaquille O'Neal, but the shooting touch of a smooth point guard, truly is unfair.
