The NBA L2M report says the offensive foul called on Sixers star Joel Embiid should have actually been a foul on Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic instead.

Here is the play from Friday night:

Embiid and the Sixers lost to the Nuggets as a result of the foul. Philly, after starting the season 5-0, is now 5-3.

Embiid finished with 19 points, 15 rebounds and two assists against the Nuggets. The Sixers All-Star also had eight turnovers.

Fans in Philadelphia didn't like the call when it happened live, so they are certainly not going to enjoy this bit of news.

Overall on the season, Embiid is averaging 23.2 points, 12.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. He's shooting 43.8 percent from the field, 35.0 percent from beyond the arc and 83.0 percent from the free-throw line.

The Sixers will take on the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday, but will once again be without All-Star point guard Ben Simmons, who is dealing with a shoulder injury. That means Embiid, Al Horford, Tobias Harris and Josh Richardson have to step up their games if the Sixers want to snap their three-game losing streak.

Without Jimmy Butler, the Sixers are clearly lacking a closer in the fourth quarter. Some thought Harris or Embiid could flourish in that role. So far, through, it hasn't been pretty.
