The Philadelphia 76ers' season took a drastic turn at the trade deadline when they acquired James Harden in a mega-deal for Ben Simmons. After a months-long saga of off-court drama, the Sixers were finally able to remove the dark cloud from over their head.

From the beginning, Morey made his stance clear on what he wanted in a trade. Seeing as their window to compete for a championship is open now, the Sixers desired a high-level player to pair alongside Joel Embiid as he enters the prime of his career. They were rewarded greatly for their patience as the result was Morey getting his long-awaited reunion with Harden.

Since Harden arrived in Philadelphia, the Sixers' new superstar duo has been a hot topic of conversation. Bringing in the former MVP instantly put them in the grouping of teams who could potentially make a run at the title this season.

We've seen Sixers players and coaches rave about the two All-Stars regularly. But, recently, we've got to hear an outsider's perspective as opposing coaches have been asked their thoughts on the Embiid-Harden combo. The first was Hall of Fame point guard and Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd.

“We're talking about one of the best players in the world when they made the trade to get [James] Harden. The dynamic duo of just inside and out and Joel [Embiid] can play on the perimeter too. They cause a big problem defensively. Again, Harden, as we just talked about, is one of the best scorers in this league. To be able to get him in a trade just makes them that much dangerous,” Kidd said Friday.

Later on that weekend, Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse gave his thoughts on the Sixers' new one-two punch. He too brought up the issues defensively as each player is someone coaches make an entire defensive game plan for.

“I mean, listen, it's two guys that are really really hard to guard on a number of fronts. There's usually a whole game plan for both of them, and now you got to play them together. I think they're both great players, and this is a really good team. I think it looks pretty good. I think they'll keep building here as the season closes,” said Nurse.

Even though Embiid and Harden did not take the floor against the Miami Heat this past Monday, head coach Erik Spoelstra still gave some quick thoughts on the NBA's newest star duo.

“They just complement each other. Either guy can make plays. Either guy can be the recipient from the other guy. We're just talking about two MVP-caliber talents. That has a way of making itself work out,” he said.

How well the two complement each other has been a major benefit for the Sixers integrating this new-look team on the fly. Harden's elite playmaking paired with Embiid's assertive nature has made them a tough cover for opposing defenses, especially in the pick-and-roll.

While Harden's shooting hasn't been great, the numbers show just how dominant these two have been when they share the floor together. The Sixers have scored a whopping 122.4 points per 100 possessions while outscoring their opponents by 15.3 points per 100 possessions in their 328 minutes together, per NBA.com.

There is no telling how things end for Embiid and Harden in their first run together. But based on these coaches' comments, there is no denying the Sixers' superstar duo has already put the rest of the league on notice.
