The Philadelphia 76ers management has given GM Elton Brand the green light to do everything he could to re-sign Tobias Harris and Jimmy Butler.
"I know Sixers Ownership has given Elton Brand the go-ahead to do what he needs to do to retain Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris"

The Sixers have acquired Butler and Harris in separate trades with the last season, teaming them up with rising stars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. Philly then set their expectations on winning a championship as they have formed one of the best offensive teams in the league.
However, the Sixers' season came to a heartbreaking end when the Toronto Raptors eliminated them in the second round of the playoffs behind a series-clinching buzzer-beater from Kawhi Leonard.
Now, the Sixers are facing one of the most important summers of the franchise's modern history. Butler and Harris are free agents and could sign elsewhere unless Philly gives them what they want financially. Jimmy is expected to demand a max contract while Tobias will also seek a paycheck that's around $25-$30 million a year.
If the Sixers will be successful in bringing back both players, they might be financially handcuffed for several years, but they will also be legitimate contenders in the Eastern Conference. If Leonard leaves the Raptors, the supremacy in the East will be between them and Giannis Antetokounmpo's Milwaukee Bucks.
The Process is not yet over for the Sixers. They still have a lot of things to do. One of those is to retain their star-studded core.
If Brand has been given the permission to ‘do what it takes,' that means that Philly is willing to spend.
