The Philadelphia 76ers intend to launch an in-depth investigation regarding The Ringer‘s report of president basketball operations Bryan Colangelo, who has been allegedly using up to five burner accounts to criticize some of his players and former members of his staff, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.

Colangelo had been reportedly linked to different burner accounts, taking shots at some of his young players — Jahlil Okafor (now with the Brooklyn Nets), Nerlens Noel (now with the Dallas Mavericks), and Joel Embiid.

The latter took to Twitter immediately after the report went viral, doing some digging and liking each of the tweets and responses that had something to do with him.

Colangelo denied any link with four of the five accounts, only admitting to using the @Phila1234567 account to “monitor our industry and other current events.”

The Sixers have taken these allegations very seriously and will plan to act on this investigation swiftly, hoping not to deal with the scrutiny that will follow if these allegations have any sort of truth in them.

Philadelphia is fresh off a playoff campaign in which it reached the second round of the playoffs, falling short against the Boston Celtics, but having exceeded expectations winning 52 games this season, including the last 16 games of the season in a row.
