The trade that landed the Brooklyn Nets with Jahlil Okafor came as a shock to many, as the team did not emerge as a possible destination for the young big man in the past few weeks. However, one person that was also surprised with the development is Trevor Booker, who was part of the deal, and will now move to the Philadelphia 76ers.

The 30-year-old Clemson product took to his Twitter account to give his reaction to the trade. He made it known that he has no ill feelings towards the franchise. Booker also thanked all his fans and the city for the good time he had during his stint there.

That post goes to show that Booker is truly a class act, and remains professional even with the unexpected trade. Now that he’ll be playing for the Sixers, he will have the chance to be part of an up-and-coming team, full of potential and talented young players. Being a veteran in the league, he will be counted on to share his experiences with his new teammates, as well as serve as one of their locker room leaders.

It remains to be seen what his exact role with the 76ers will be, but with the influx of big men in their lineup, one thing that’s certain is he will have to compete for playing time with the likes of Dario Saric, Richaun Holmes and Amir Johnson for the minutes at the power forward spot, which is his natural position.
