The Philadelphia 76ers appear destined to ship away talented guard Ben Simmons in a deal before the 2021-2022 NBA season begins. However, the asking price for Simmons is sure to be a lot– and rightfully so. He was a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year, and despite his playoff struggles, he is still a young, budding star.

In fact, Kevin O'Conner of The Ringer chimed in on one deal that was sent toward the San Antonio Spurs, and the asking price for Simmons was hefty. (h/t News 4 SA)

“There's so much stuff floating out there right now about the Sixers having outrageous demands like wanting four first-round draft picks, and three pick swaps, and a young player from the Spurs they say now.”

That is a lot for Ben Simmons and it makes sense why the Spurs ended up saying no to that reported offer. Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN doubled down on those comments and reinforced what everybody assumed.

Oh man. While it looks as if the Sixers are doing whatever possible to deal Simmons, their asking price is a high one and teams might end up backing away if it remains at that level.

The NBA Draft is usually when a lot of deals go down, but Woj reported that the Sixers could take this into the summer until they find an adequate trade package for Simmons.

Either way, it looks as if Simmons' days in a Sixers uniform are nearing an end.
