Sixers center Joel Embiid had nothing but sincere apologies for a courtside fan, after he accidentally hit him with the basketball after blocking a Dwight Powell jumper after the whistle. Embiid jogged over to the fan, apologized and gave the fan a smooch on the head before returning to action.

The Sixers played their third preseason game against the Dallas Mavericks at Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai as part of the NBA China Games.

Embiid might be the king of social media trash talk, but he's also endeared himself to Philly fans across the world with gestures like this one — a sprinkle of humility to go with a giant frame and a loud-talking game.

The 7-footer put up 11 points, six rebounds, four assists and a steal in the first half of the game, as the Sixers took a 64-62 lead into the half.

As for the rest of the season, the franchise based in the City of Brotherly Love fully expects to be contenders in the Eastern Conference. While many project the Boston Celtics as the favorites, Philly has a wonderfully gifted young core who are looking to take a huge developmental jump this season.

Only time will tell if they will have enough to get by.
