Al Nassr ace Cristiano Ronaldo and Michael Jordan are two of the most influential athletes in sports history. Both have influenced their sports and taken them to unimaginable heights. However, these two icons are also two of the fewest athletes to have their brand creating a top-flight football team’s shirt.

Ronaldo is not playing European football anymore as he is currently contracted to Saudi Pro League’s Al Nassr. However, the 38-year-old has been in the headlines recently as his boyhood club Sporting Lisbon celebrates 20 years of his breakthrough in first-team football.

On August 6th, the Portuguese giants made an announcement regarding his debut. They revealed their plan to pay tribute to Ronaldo by dedicating this season's third kit. This special kit is a black shirt with gold sleeves adorned with white accents on the cuffs. Notably, it prominently displays his ‘CR7' brand logo instead of the Nike swoosh. It's worth noting that the Al Nassr man has a lifetime contract with Nike, just like Jordan, and this unique exposure is a privilege only a few brands enjoy.

In 2018, Jordan Brand entered into an exclusive three-year partnership with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Since then, the Jumpman logo has been featured on various pieces of the club's merchandise, including alternate jerseys.

Interestingly, the color scheme of last season's fourth shirt closely resembles Sporting's new kit. The comparisons between the two can now begin, as Sporting wore this kit for the first time on Sunday during their third league game.

Despite playing at home, Sporting chose to wear their third kit for the match against Famalicao. This decision didn't affect their performance as the 19-time Portuguese champions secured a victory, maintaining their perfect start to the season with a 100% win record.
