Chelsea midfielder Marc Cucurella has reportedly snubbed six European clubs to stay at Stamford Bridge this summer. The former Brighton has been surplus to requirements since the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino as manager.
According to the reports from Fabrizio Romano, Cucurella snubbed Manchester United, Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, RB Leipzig, Real Sociedad, and Sevilla. Despite staying at Stamford Bridge, it is unlikely that Pochettino will fancy him for the upcoming Chelsea games. The Blues don't have a hectic schedule either, as they don't have European football.
Manchester United initially were the front runners to sign Cucurella this summer. However, they wanted to include the break clause in his contract, which Chelsea quickly denied. The Blues wanted United to include the option of buying the midfielder permanently next summer. Manchester United refused the offer, and the 25-year-old midfielder stayed at Stamford Bridge. Instead, the Red Devils signed Sofyan Amrabat and Sergio Reguilon on Deadline Day. Both are loan deals from Fiorentina and Tottenham Hotspur, respectively.

However, Chelsea rejected the move from the Premier League champions. Alongside that, the Blues also declined loan moves from Atletico Madrid, RB Leipzig, Sevilla, and Real Sociedad.
Chelsea are in a mess at the moment, winning only one Premier League game in four. More importantly, they already have so many injuries to deal with. Romeo Lavia is expected to be sidelined after the international break. It remains to be seen whether these injuries allow Pochettino to bring back Cucurella into the Chelsea squad.
