The football world lost an influential figure on Saturday as super-agent Mino Raiola tragically passed away at the age of 54 after a long-term fight with illness. The Italian was known as one of the best in the business at his job, representing the likes of Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and most notably, Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland.

Following the news, the Norwegian reacted on Twitter to the news of Raiola's passing with a heartwarming photo and caption:

Mino Raiola is the one who was expected to pull all the strings for Haaland this summer as he's expected to finally leave Germany and join Manchester City. Reports indicate that City even visited Raiola in hospital in recent days to negotiate an agreement for the player.

It's unknown who will be Haaland's agent now, but this is truly sad. Raiola wasn't liked by some but he certainly made his presence felt in the sport by getting the absolute best deals for his clients.

Haaland meanwhile will see his £62 million release clause activated in the coming months. There's essentially nothing left for him to prove in the Bundesliga and City needs a No. 9. It feels like the perfect fit.

RIP Mino Raiola, you'll be missed by many.
