Lionel Messi has yet to make his PSG debut after joining the club from Barcelona in one of the most historic transfers ever. However, it looks as the Argentine could be in line for his first appearance for the Ligue 1 giants next weekend against Reims, per PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino:
“It's been a very good week for Leo,” Pochettino told ESPN Argentina, via Goal.
“Next week will be a long one, but if all goes well, we hope he can be in the squad and start at a competitive level [against Reims].”
This is obviously great news for Paris and their supporters, who have patiently awaiting Messi's first game in a PSG shirt. They welcomed him to the Parc des Princes in their home opener last weekend against Strasbourg, erupting into an absolute frenzy when the 34-year-old walked onto the pitch.

PSG are off to a perfect start in league play, registering three straight wins after burying Brest 4-2 on Friday. Neymar was also missing from the team, but the Parisians had no problem securing the victory.
Once Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe are all together, it's hard to imagine anyone in France or Europe, for that matter, beating PSG. It's going to be very interesting to see what this club is capable of in the coming months.
