The Oklahoma Sooners got quite the news when it was announced that former head coach Lincoln Riley would be leaving to join USC as their new head coach. As it turns out, Riley's departure might not be the only one that the Sooners have to deal with, following the recent announcement from quarterback Caleb Williams.

In a Twitter post, Oklahoma quarterback Caleb Williams announces his intention to enter the transfer portal, though he does mention that a return to the Sooners could be in his future.

Williams mentioned needing some time to figure out what the “right path” is for him after all of the recent changes, most notably the departure of former head coach Lincoln Riley.

The Oklahoma quarterback mentioned needing a few days to decompress and relax with his family, a good idea with such a big decision in his future.

There has been some speculation that Williams, who was recruited to the Sooners by Riley, would follow his former head coach to USC. Thanks to Williams' recent announcement, that could technically happen now, though it might not be likely.

Williams, a freshman, impressed in 11 games, throwing for 21 touchdowns and four interceptions while leading Oklahoma to an 11-2 record.

Now, Caleb Williams will have to decide if he wants to remain in Oklahoma or continue his college career elsewhere.
