BIOGRAPHY

Former Chicago Bulls great Michael Jordan is retired.

Born on February 17, 1963, MJ was listed at 6' 6" and weighing 195 lbs during his player career. To this day, many NBA scouts use Jordan’s build as the ideal prototype for shooting guards.

In what is now a story so infamous it usually goes without saying, Jordan was actually cut from his high school basketball team. Obviously, that was just a small bump on the road before committing to play for Dean Smith and his famed North Carolina Tar Heels.

Jordan would win six NBA championships, including two separate three-peats only separated by his stint playing baseball. Moreover, arguably the greatest player in the history of basketball, Jordan would also go on to win numerous individual awards throughout his NBA career.

During his NBA career he also played 13 seasons with the Chicago Bulls. He would come out of retirement to play 2 seasons with the Washington Wizards.

This stint with the Wizards is often misrepresented as some sort of shortcoming/bad decision by MJ, and maybe it was relative to his standards, but he averaged over 21 points per game. His Airness also chipped in 5.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists over that period of time.

Now that he’s retired from the sport, Michael Jordan is currently the owner of the Charlotte Hornets and has been inducted in the Naismith Hall of Fame.
