San Antonio Spurs big man Davis Bertans had recently suffered a finger injury that kept out of action from EuroBasket tournament play.

In his first game back, Bertans broke a national record by nailing seven 3-pointers in 97-92 win over Great Britain.

The 24-year-old erased any doubt concerning his finger injury by putting together a strong outing for his home country in a big win. He has been quite productive through three games played averaging 15.7 points on 60 percent shooting from the field and 60 percent from beyond the arc (9-of-15). The bulk of that production came in the huge outing against Great Britain in group phase play that included him recording a rebound and two steals in 18 minutes played.

Bertans has shown much promise to translate to him becoming a key contributor off the bench for the Spurs this upcoming season. In his first campaign with San Antonio, he averaged 4.5 points on 44 percent shooting from the field with 1.5 rebounds in 12.1 minutes per contest in 67 games played last season.

He had been originally selected with the 42nd overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Spurs and had spent the last few seasons overseas in Euroleague playing with Union Olimpija, Partizan, and Laboral Kutxa Baskonia.
