The San Antonio Spurs and Boston Celtics agreed to an NBA trade deadline deal involving Spurs guard Derrick White, who was sent to the Celtics in exchange for forward Josh Richardson. White's former Spurs teammate Dejounte Murray had a, er, interesting instant reaction to White being dealt to the Celtics at the NBA trade deadline.

Spurs guard Dejounte Murray is very surprised by this NBA trade deadline deal. Murray clearly isn't too thrilled that San Antonio is leaning even more in the direction of a rebuild following their deal to send Derrick White, who was still just 27 and had blossomed into one of their better all-around players alongside Murray, to the Celtics.

It's not like the Spurs were fleeced by the Celtics, as they got a solid wing player in Josh Richardson back in the NBA trade deadline deal. However, Murray likely felt that San Antonio had a chance to make a run at the play-in tournament in the Western Conference, where they are currently behind only the Sacramento Kings and Portland Trail Blazers in terms of positioning.

However, the Spurs likely saw the writing on the wall when both the Kings and Blazers committed to rebuilds. That likely factored into their reasoning when considering the White trade with the Celtics.

Apparently, Dejounte Murray doesn't agree with that reasoning.
