San Antonio Spurs guard Derrick White underwent toe surgery on his left foot, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

White played in seven seeding games at Walt Disney World. He sat out the final game since the Spurs were already eliminated from the playoffs. The rugged defender averaged 18.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 29.8 minutes per contest in the Walt Disney bubble.

Derrick White finished the 2019-20 season with averages of 11.3 points, 3.3 boards and 3.5 assists in 68 games. He shot 45.8 percent from the field, 36.6 percent from beyond the arc and 85.3 percent from the free-throw line. White is considered the future of the Spurs, along with Dejounte Murray and Lonnie Walker.

San Antonio missed the playoffs in 2019-20 for the first time since 1997. All-Star power forward LaMarcus Aldridge didn't play in the restart due to shoulder surgery. However, he should be at 100 percent by the time the 2020-21 campaign starts.

Spurs shooting guard DeMar DeRozan, the team's best scorer, has a player option for the 2020-21 campaign. If he declines it, DeRozan becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

San Antonio drafted White with the 29th overall pick in the 2017 draft out of Colorado. While known more for his defense, White has slowly but surely honed his offensive game and flourished in Gregg Popovich's system.
