The San Antonio Spurs' 22-year postseason streak has come to an end. And many are wondering, is Gregg Popovich looking to retire after an illustrious coaching career?
Per Marc Stein, the Spurs head coach uttered a three-word reply to shut down all the doubts.

From the looks of it, Gregg Popovich will stay along the Spurs' sidelines next year and for several more to come. For Spurs fans, the 2019-20 season can be swept under the rug. But in the 2020-21 season and the next, best believe that Popovich and crew will try their best to make it back to the postseason.
Since the legendary trio of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Paker left, analysts were wondering if the Spurs would remain as legitimate playoff contenders. After all, this was also the time when Kawhi Leonard wasn't seeing eye-to-eye with the medical staff. Analysts saw him as the one who will inherit the throne from the iconic trio.
The Spurs had no choice but to give up Leonard via trade. With DeMar DeRozan, some savvy veterans, and a bunch of young guns, the Spurs were able to qualify for the postseason, racking in almost 50 wins in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 season, respectively. A minority of analysts tagged this as a great sign of progress.
Apart from DeRozan, several players like Dejounte Murray, Lonnie Walker, and Derrick White showed some promise. And it proved yet again that the Spurs have one of the best eyes for hidden talent. In the years to come, NBA diehards should expect the aforementioned players to noise.
