The San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors have started a rivalry over the past three seasons. Gregg Popovich and his former player, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, have done a masterful job at bringing a lot of success to their teams, by calling the right plays on the sidelines.
As ironic as it is though, Kerr’s son, Nick, currently holds a video intern role with the Spurs, helping them return to their championship winning ways, and topple his father’s team. Popovich, who has made a name for himself as a hilarious and sarcastic figure during interviews, joked about how they treat the younger Kerr everyday at work.

Steve Kerr was then asked about his relationship with the five-time champion coach, and shared how he makes him pay for the tab whenever they dine out, just like the last time they had dinner together. He also commented about how strange it is that his son is being employed by the Spurs organization.
“(My son is) with the Spurs now, so he is ‘you guys,'” Kerr said. “He's not us.”

Thursday night was the first time the Spurs and Warriors faced off this season. The Dubs won via a blow out, 112-92, thanks to a third quarter runout that was led by Kevin Durant. With both teams still scheduled to meet two more times in the regular season, it will be very interesting to see what kind of adjustments Popovich and company will have their team make, with the help of Nick Kerr’s video preparations.
