San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili announced his retirement earlier this week, and it's unleashed an outpouring of ‘thank you's' and ‘congratulations' from NBA fans in the United States as well as Argentina fans.

Ginobili was not just revered in the United States. He is one of two players to have won an NBA Championship, an Olympic Gold Medal, and a Euroleague championship. He is worshipped in Argentina after leading the national team to gold over the U.S. and Serbia, breaking a long streak of United States dominance.

Here's a look at all the newspapers covers announcing Ginobili's retirement on Instagram.

From a simple thanks to lauding him as irreplaceable and one of the best, it's clear that Ginobili was loved worldwide.

It's likely that we'll never see a player like Ginobili again. He was an eccentric but effective player known for slinging lefty darts through minuscule windows to wide open players and coming up clutch again and again both in the playoffs and the regular season.

Not only was he an amazing player, but an excellent human being. Ginobili came in and took on a bench role even though he was one of the top talents in the league in his prime.

Thankfully, although Ginobili will no longer suit up for action on the court, there are reports that he will retain some role with the Spurs organization. Hopefully, we will still see him on the Spurs bench this season, exchanging his uniform for a suit.
