After the San Antonio Spurs gave up their best player in Dejounte Murray to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for future assets, there were immediate rumblings surrounding Gregg Popovich's future with the franchise. With San Antonio going full tank mode, some believed that coach Pop would decide to finally call it quits after an illustrious coaching career.

Well, it sounds like this isn't going to happen just yet. ESPN's NBA guru Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Popovich is expected to stay on as the Spurs head coach this coming season:

“[The Spurs] are now in a full rebuild mode,” Woj said (h/t Talkin' NBA on Twitter). “Gregg Popovich, the expectation is that he is going to return again. He really enjoyed coaching that young team last year. He likes this young group.”

As Woj said, coach Pop enjoyed coaching this young group last season. Murray may now be out of the picture, but there are still a handful of young prospects on the roster that apparently, has piqued Popovich's interest.

Coach Pop has pretty much done it all in his career as the Spurs head coach, and at this point, it sounds like he's more than willing to take a few losses if it means helping this young team reach its full potential.
