DeMar DeRozan has officially scored his first basket with the San Antonio Spurs. In the Spurs' first preseason game against the Miami Heat this afternoon, DeRozan was able to knock down one of his patented mid-range pull-up jumpers to get things going with his new team.

Take a look at the video from the Spurs' official Twitter account to see DeRozan's first basket in a San Antonio jersey.

This past offseason was an absolute whirlwind for the former Toronto Raptors star. After apparently being told that he was safe from being traded, DeRozan was shipped in a blockbuster trade that sent Kawhi Leonard back to Toronto.

San Antonio could not be more excited to have DeRozan on board to replace Leonard. DeRozan may not bring the kind of defense that Leonard did, but he is a more than capable leader for the franchise.

Last season with the Raptors, DeRozan averaged 23.0 points to go along with 5.2 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game. He shot 45.6 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 31.0 percent of his 3-point attempts. Those offensive numbers are going to look very good for the Spurs.

All of that being said, DeRozan's first bucket is out of the way and there are going to be many more to come. San Antonio may have a few more moves to make before they become serious contenders in the Western Conference with the Golden State Warriors, but getting DeRozan on board is a big step in that direction.
