We might not be getting a future Stardew Valley update as creator ConcernedApe says he's focusing on his new game.

Fans of Stardew Valley might need to wait for a long time before they get Stardew Valley 1.6. After all, ConcernedApe is way too busy and focused on his upcoming new game. Speaking with Zach “UnsurpassableZ” Hartman on Twitch, the Stardew Valley creator states:

“”I'm not saying there's going to be another Stardew Valley update. I don't even know at this point. Right now I am focused on my next game. So, we'll see.”

This comes after commenting on future marriage prospects in the game. ConcernedApe related how hard it actually is to implement new marriage candidates.

“To have someone become a marriage candidate, that means I have to add a lot of dialogue and at least two more events, and those events take a lot of time. It may seem like it's not that big of a deal, but they take a huge amount of time. There's a lot of other stuff – you have to make the spouse room. There's just a lot to it. So that's the reason why I haven't just added more marriage candidates. But there's no reason why I'm opposed to having more. I think it would be fun.”

The news might come as a disappointment for hardcore Stardew Valley fans, especially since a new esports scene may just be forming up as ConcernedApe held the Stardew Valley Cup, in collaboration with UnsurpassableZ. Still, his comments may have just been made to dissuade fans from expecting too much, so fans can still hope for another Stardew Valle update.
