Antonio Brown's time with the Pittsburgh Steelers is almost surely up, but that does not mean the team is going to forget about Le'Veon Bell, too. While most people expect the free agent running back, who sat out the entire season due to a contract dispute with the franchise, to sign elsewhere during the offseason, Steelers owner Art Rooney II is leaving open the possibility of a Bell return in 2019:

“We don't have to close any doors right now and so there is no reason to say something is completely off the table,” said Rooney, according to Andrew Stockey of WTAE-TV.

Now, that isn't exactly a ringing endorsement for Bell, as Rooney sounds more diplomatic in that comment than anything else, but who knows? Stranger things have happened.

Of course, Bell and the Steelers are not exactly on great terms.

In 2017, Bell held out of training camp and missed the first week of the season due to the fact that he wasn't satisfied with his contract. However, he did return in Week 2 and proceeded to play the rest of the year.

This season, though, the 26-year-old held out once again and ended up sitting out the entire 2018 campaign.

Last year, Bell rushed for 1,291 yards and nine touchdowns while averaging four yards per carry. In addition, he hauled in 85 receptions for 655 yards and a couple of scores en route to a Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

Bell has made three Pro Bowls in five seasons and has also earned First-Team All-Pro honors twice.
