Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers played as close to a perfect game as they could as the clobbered the Carolina Panthers, 52-21. Big Ben was a big factor in that impressive victory as he went an incredible 22 of 25 for 328 yards and five touchdowns to earn a perfect 158.3 passer rating.

The Steelers have now won five games in a row with a little under half the season still to play. That may lead some to think that the Steelers might be peaking a little too early. But when asked about this possibility, Roethlisberger believes there are still some plays that they can make to get better.

“I hope not yet,” Roethlisberger said per Joe Rutter of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “You want to keep trying to move up until the end, keep trending up. We’re playing some pretty good football, but there’s still some stuff out there, some plays that we can make.”

There’s no doubt that Roethlisberger and the Steelers are rolling at the moment and are looking like legitimate Super Bowl contenders. But obviously, a lot can still change over the course of the next couple of months, like injuries. James Conner is currently in the concussion protocol after the Panthers win, which shows how quickly things can turn.

Chances are the Steelers will experience a few setbacks in the coming weeks. The challenge for Big Ben and co. will be to find a way to overcome those obstacles and play the way they’ve been doing for the past five weeks later in the season.
