Eric Ebron is beginning a new phase in his career after joining the Pittsburgh Steelers in free agency this offseason. Upon joining his new team, Ebron made a bold promise for his time with the Steelers, via his official Twitter account.

Back in the 2014 NFL Draft, Ebron began his career with the Detroit Lions as the No. 10 pick in the first round. Seeing that he was selected before Odell Beckham Jr. and Aaron Donald, Ebron had a ton of pressure to live up to expectations.

Despite the expectations, Ebron never lived up to them in Detroit, spending just four seasons with the Lions. After leaving the Lions, Ebron signed with the Indianapolis Colts in hopes he could rejuvenate his NFL career.

In his first season with the Colts, Ebron was able to record a career-high 66 receptions for 750 yards and 13 touchdowns. However, in his second year in Indianapolis, his season was derailed by an ankle injury.

As a result of the injury, the veteran tight end finished with only 31 receptions for 375 yards and three touchdowns in 2019. All of those numbers were the lowest marks of his career since his rookie season with the Lions.

Nevertheless, as he continues to recover from his ankle injury, he chose to sign a two-year deal with the Steelers. Even though his tenure in Indianapolis didn't go as planned, Ebron is focused on making it work in Pittsburgh. To take it a step further, the former first-round pick seems to be prepared to have the best season of his career in 2020.
