Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd accused the Pittsburgh Steelers of giving up at the end of the Bengals' 24-10 victory on Sunday. Boyd took to Twitter Tuesday to somewhat soften his stance and say he still has “respect” for the Steelers, but he still hinted that he thinks they quit.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was asked about Boyd's comments and fired back:

Here were Boyd's initial comments:

“I think the good thing about that win was, not only did the Steelers feel that, everybody in the country felt it. Because the last plays of the game for them, they gave up. You could see it. They had three drops in a row. For a team to see that is giving us more power, giving us the antidote to know how good we are.”

It's no surprise that Tomlin was rather snippy in his response to this, but he's also surely pissed at his own team. Since a huge Week 1 win over the Buffalo Bills, Tomlin's Steelers have played poorly. Pittsburgh lost to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2 and then got thumped by the Bengals in Week 3, with Ben Roethlisberger looking rather washed.

Boyd got in the end zone once on Sunday, ultimately winding up with four catches for 36 yards. Bengals rookie Ja'Marr Chase was the star of the show, catching four passes for 65 yards and two scores. Cincinnati is now 2-1 on the season.

As for Tomlin and his Steelers, it will be interesting to see how long of a leash Roethlisberger has before a potential benching. While he's a future Hall of Famer, it would be a disservice to keep throwing him out there if he continues to struggle throwing the ball. Changes will have to be made soon if things don't get better, and Tomlin surely knows it.
