The Pittsburgh Steelers recently unveiled the brand new name of their stadium, ditching the signature Heinz Field for Acrisure Stadium. By no surprise, fans are absolutely furious and they've even started a petition to get rid of it.

Daniel Sass, a lifelong Steelers supporter, claims “anything” is better than Acrisure Stadium, which many find difficult to pronounce. Via The Bellingham Herald:

“Heinz Field is the only sponsored stadium that the team has ever played in. Previously playing at Three Rivers Stadium, Pitt Stadium, and before that, Forbes Field,” the petition reads. “But now the Heinz Field sponsorship is no more. It’s new name was just announced and it is HORRIBLE!!!! “An out-of-state sponsor comes in and inflicts this name change on Steelers fans that isn’t even easy to pronounce.”

Through the first few days, the petition has 700 signatures. The goal is to get as many as humanly possible. In all seriousness though, the Steelers aren't about to drop their new sponsorship with Acrisure and change it back to Heinz. Acrisure is a massive insurance company in the US.

A lot of fans also didn't like the fact that the company is from Michigan, not Pennsylvania. Heinz was interested in coming to a new agreement with the Steelers but it came down to one problem: Money. Acrisure was willing to pay a lot more for the naming rights.

That being said, fans can continue with their petition but it doesn't seem like it'll change the ways things are. Definitely unfortunate. I guess they'll need to get used to Acrisure Stadium.
