Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown got his wish this offseason. He wanted a trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he got it. He wanted to be dealt to the Raiders, and he got it.
But will Brown regret leaving the Steelers?
Fox Sports personality Skip Bayless seems to think so, stating that Brown's current beef with Steelers wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster is proof that the 30-year-old just can't let Pittsburgh go:
“Antonio Brown can't let Pittsburgh go,” Bayless said on Undisputed. “… One day he's going to wake up and say, ‘What was I doing?' Clearly, he left the better team behind. He left the better QB behind, and JuJu is in the power position here.”
Bayless added that it's “killing” Brown that he is no longer in Pittsburgh.
No one really knows what is going through Brown's mind, and Brown is so eccentric that we can't even be sure that he knows what he is thinking at this point.
Brown's talent is undeniable. During his nine-year tenure with the Steelers, he made seven Pro Bowls and was named a First-Team All-Pro four times. He led the league in receptions and receiving yards twice apiece and also paced the NFL with 15 receiving touchdowns this past season.
However, there is also no denying that Brown's attitude was a big problem in Pittsburgh's locker room, as evidenced by the fact that he went AWOL on the team in the week leading up to the Steelers' season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Brown also left the team on two other occasions in 2018.
