Pittsburgh Steelers standout T.J. Watt has made a strong statement about how things need to change after the death of George Floyd in police custody. Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was caught on camera kneeling on Floyd's neck for over nine minutes, and the reaction around the world has been swift and steady.

There has been a week of protests and a lot of talk about changes that need to be made in society. The Steelers linebacker said on Twitter that he knows staying silent won't help anything. He isn't sure exactly what the solution is to make sure it doesn't happen again, but Watt hopes that he can be a part of it:

“I typically keep my social media light hearted and fun, but I realize that staying silent will not create change. Therefore, I want to express my feelings on this issue as I continue listening and trying to understand how I can help.

“Over the last week I have been struggling to comprehend what I saw and express what I want to say in words. What George Floyd went through was absolutely disgusting, hateful, and unacceptable.

“It is clear that there is a problem, and we need to find a solution. I don't have that solution, but I hope to somehow be part of it. Nobody should live in fear because of the color of their skin. Nobody.”
