After going on an 11-game winning streak to start the season, the Pittsburgh Steelers find themselves in a major funk with three straight losses. They look to snap the losing skid in their upcoming game against Philip Rivers and the Indianapolis Colts.
The 39-year old has found success in his debut campaign with the Colts and the Steelers have done their due diligence in game-planning for the 8-time Pro-Bowler. Steelers outside linebacker TJ Watt gave his praises on the veteran QB about how his experience has been very effective in breaking down defenses.
Via Matthew Marczi of Steelers Depot:
“The mental aspect of it is so big, especially for a quarterback who’s been able to do it for so long, being able to hit his hot routes really effectively, get the ball out, check the ball down, not always push the ball down the field, just checking it down and letting his guys go to work”.
Furthermore, Pittsburgh safety Minkah Fitzpatrick also admitted it's going to be hard to outsmart Rivers given that he's probably seen every defense imaginable. Nonetheless, Fitzpatrick suggested that they should just look to execute their game plan and try to confuse the experienced veteran the best they can.
