North Carolina standout Cameron Johnson was selected with the 11th overall pick of the 2019 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns, much to the surprise of many who had him initially slated as a potential high-end second rounder, one that had crept to the high 20s of the first round after recent workouts.

His UNC teammate Coby White, drafted seventh by the Chicago Bulls, was incredibly surprised when he was informed of his selection, going on what would soon be a meme-able real-time reaction of sheer exhilaration.

We all know that moment: “He went what?,” asked White during his mid-draft presser. “Cam drafted 11th. Wow… Wooow… Woooow, bro. That’s crazy!”

It didn't take long for Johnson to see the clip go viral.

“At first, it was kind of funny to me,” Johnson told Gina Mizell and Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic. “That’s a side of Coby that not everybody sees, but that’s the Coby that we saw in the locker room every day. He gets really excited. To see another guy who just got picked have that much excitement over something that’s going on a little bit outside of his personal bubble at the time is really incredible, and it kind of speaks to the bond that we have at Carolina.”

Johnson, a transfer from Pittsburgh who played his last two seasons at North Carolina, already has had a deep impact in younger players like White.

“Everybody respects the way Cam works so hard and the kind of person he is,” said his college coach Roy Williams. “But Coby showing that, I mean it was great moment for both of them.”

The two teammates will be forever bonded by their stint at UNC, but they have already made NBA memories that detail the strength of their bond and the bright future there's to come for both Tar Heels.
