Chris Paul is a true leader and mentor to Devin Booker, and he proved as much when Book suffered from a broken nose in Game 2 of the Phoenix Suns-Los Angeles Clippers Western Conference Finals series.

To recall, Booker broke his nose after a headbutt with Patrick Beverley in the third quarter of the contest. He was bleeding a lot after the incident and had to be taken to the locker room to get treatment. The Suns guard eventually returned and played a crucial role in their buzzer-beating win to take a 2-o lead at the time.

Apparently, however, Paul was the main reason Booker was able to calm down after the incident. According to Suns managing partner Robert Sarver on Sirius XM, CP3 FaceTimed the 24-year-old to tell him what to do and keep his composure, advising him not to strike back despite the provocations.

Chris Paul is the main reason why the Suns are in the NBA Finals. Sure, his 41-point explosion in their closeout game was memorable and special, but it's little stories like what Sarver just revealed that shows his impact on Devin Booker and the team.

While Booker struggled for much of the said contest, it's hard to image the youngster getting frustrated and trying to get back at Beverley. It  certainly wouldn't help the Suns as well, especially since they were fighting a close game then.

Fortunately for the Suns, they have a leader who was ready to help and guide the team even while in isolation.
