Chris Paul just surpassed Steve Nash for third on the NBA all-time assists list. Sure enough, Devin Booker didn't miss the opportunity to honor and congratulate his Phoenix Suns teammate and mentor for the momentous achievement.

On Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans, CP3 recorded an incredible 18-assist game, which is more than enough to propel him past Nash (10,335) on the list. He is now only behind John Stockton and Jason Kidd, though it might be difficult for him to break the record of the two NBA legends.

Devin Booker, for his part, Took to Twitter to share his respect and admiration for Chris Paul after yet another record. To recall, it wasn't too long ago when the Suns' veteran guard breached the 20,000-point mark–making him the only player to reach the scoring feat while having more than 10,000 assists.

Paul certainly deserves a ton of recognition, and while there has never been any doubt on it, the “Point God” title looks fitting to him now more than ever.

The 36-year-old playmaker is still searching for his first NBA title after coming so close in 2020-21. The Suns reached the NBA Finals after a tough Western Conference journey, but they ended up succumbing to Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.

Paul is hoping he will get another chance to fight for the title. Surely, though, Booker wants the same thing for the well-respected veteran and is ready to help him get to the promised land.
