Phoenix Suns star guard Devin Booker has sat out the past month with a groin injury. The last time he played was back on Christmas Day against the Nuggets when he logged just four minutes in the 128-125 overtime Suns loss. Without Booker in the lineup, the Suns have done little but tread water and hover around .500, as the team owns a mediocre 25-24 record. And while Booker is still set to miss more time, a recent injury update hints that he'll be back on the floor sooner rather than later.

Booker is reportedly continuing to make progress in his recovery, and he will be re-evaluated by the Suns in one week, per a tweet from PHNX Sports' Gerald Bourguet.

Devin Booker, 26, is in his eighth year in the big leagues — all as a member of the Suns — after Phoenix selected him with the 13th overall pick back in the 2015 NBA draft. He's averaging 27.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.4 blocks across 29 appearances this season. While not known as a defensive-minded player by any means, Booker's defensive numbers in 2022-23 have been impressive, at least by his standards. His current 0.4 blocks average is the highest in his career, and his 0.9 steals average is the second-highest.

Here's to hoping Booker is able to return to the floor sometime in the first week of February. The Suns need him back as soon as possible if they want to get back to the top of the Western Conference standings like they were early on in the season.
